If a Cub Scout has completed the first grade (or is 8 years old) and has earned the Bobcat Badge, he may start earning the Wolf rank. He needs a Wolf Scout handbook, Wolf neckerchief, and Wolf neckerchief slide when beginning the Wolf portion of the boy scout trail. He will also need a blue Cub Scout Uniform. This part of the boy scout trail is intended to take one school year, preparing the scout to begin earning his Bear rank after he completes second grade.
Much of the advancement for the Wolf rank is done by the scout with his family outside of the den. The parent signs off in the scout's handbook and the Den Leader records the advancements from the handbook to tracking chart or software program. As the Tiger program was completely family oriented, so the Wolf program relies heavily on family involvement. You will see this gradually change with the scout doing more with his den and more individual direction as he reaches Webelos and Boy Scouts.
Your Wolf den will have opportunities to participate in Pack meetings. Prepare your scouts by having them ready to perform a couple of Skits and lead the pack in some Games. By having a Wolf favorite ready, your scouts will look good, have fun, and increase their confidence through leading the pack.

How often do we meet
The den meetings are about 1 hour every other week. The schedule is determined by Den Leaders and typically meet at Our Lady of Las Vegas School picnic tables, classroom or the gym.
The Pack meetings (All Dens) meet every 6-7 for weeks at Our Lady of Las Vegas School picnic tables or the gym.

New Cub Scout application fee $10
Yearly Cub Scouting Dues for the 2010-2011 Year $105- includes a 1 year subscription to Boy's Life Magazine
New Cub Scout Leaders, Assistant Leaders $15 Registration fee per year
When do we start meeting
Den Meetings start in September and go until May when they graduate to the next rank of Bear

1. Cub Scout Wolf Book - we recommend the spiral bound Wolf Scout books, they cost a little more but lay flat opposed to the standard binded ones-
2 .Class A Uniform- this includes the following
Blue Cub Scout shirt, please buy your shirt a little large, most boys will be wearing the same shirt for the next 2 years. American Flag and Boy Scouts of America are all ready stitched on. We recommend getting a short sleeve shirt.

Applying Patches to Uniform Tip: buy the Badge Magic self adhesive from the Scout Store, just cut out the shape and stick on the back of the patches, peal off the backing and press onto uniform. Then press with an hot iron to secure (not sewing needed). Avoid the patch adhesives from craft stores, they are worthless, get Badge Magic or get ready to spend a few hours sewing.
Please do not buy any other patches than the ones listed above, Boys will earn patches throughout the year and will be presented at Pack and Den Meetings.

4. Dark Navy Blue Shorts or Pants, - OLLV School uniform pants/shorts or any Dark Navy Blue Pant/Shorts are ok - (Denim or Levi's are not acceptable as a Class A Uniform) the official blue pants or shorts are optional.
5. Yellow Wolf Neckerchief
6. Wolf Slide - you may want to purchase a few of these, they tend to fall off, use doubled up rubber bands or hair band under tie slide to secure it to the neckerchief.

(Optional) Red Patch Vest for all non-uniform patches. Boy like to wear these to show off the different patches earned over the years, also called a "Brag Vest".
